Leadership Skill Development

Text Box: There is no greater call
that we can answer than to be
the instrument God uses
to unlock a
young man’s potential.
Text Box: There’s more to being a leader in CSB than just showing up.
The Bible says:

For Christian men in BC. there are so many excellent things to be involved with, but at what cost? There’s an aspect to denying ourselves that includes turning our backs on a lot of the really good stuff—Christ-centred stuff—vacations; men’s conferences; couples retreats; etc. If we are working for the best in Christ’s Kingdom, then it must include doing what’s best for the boys in our churches and communities. They must have godly Christian men involved in their lives and those men are us. We are called according to His Purpose to guide boys to Christ.

Leading boys is an AWESOME responsibility that significantly impacts all those associated with the effort. CSB Ministries therefore recommends that the local church require its CSB leaders to take a decisive stand on all lifestyle choices generally acknowledged to be detrimental, such as: tobacco products, gambling, profanity, alcohol, illicit drugs, pornography, and sex outside of marriage. The enslaving tendencies of these choices (whether they are “sin” or not) provide clear justification for this requirement, especially where the discipling of youth is concerned. Just as an athlete rejects certain lifestyle habits and conditions himself for excelling in a particular sport, so leadership in Christian boys' work must lead to abstinence in these areas.

This standard will be upheld wherever CSB groups
gather together on an inter-church basis
for camping, sports and other activities.
Text Box: ‘When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”’ Mark 8:34-38 (NKJV)

OUR MISSION:  building godly men of today and tomorrow

Text Box: Building Men Conferences
These conferences are a little different as they are open training sessions for any man from any church. The focus is on building the Body of Christ, thus “Building Men” but that effort is far more than just CSB. CSB acts as a sponsor and facilitator, and has a significant presence in these conferences, but the emphasis is on making the man, young and old, a better servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The “Building Men” Men’s Conference featuring Dr Chuck Stecker was one of these occasional events.
