Making CSB Ministries and CSB BC part of your regular prayer routine is a important part of the growth of God’s Kingdom in the BC Region. This “weekly schedule” is one way to help this ministry of Christ reach the boys, men, families and churches of our province. Thank you.
Prayer for the ministry needs to happen on a daily basis, not only when something comes to mind, and not just fired off in the direction of greatest concern.
Sunday: Pray for your church and CSB. Monday: Pray for CSB (inter)nationally and its (inter)national leadership, resource development and global outreach; for CSB staff and staff assistants; for a unity in the Spirit; for a growing faith; for a growing vision; for growth, period. Tuesday: Pray for active CSB churches and units; for God’s blessing; for their leaders, children, families, and pastors; for their activities; for evidence of fruit; for their outreach; for their support. Wednesday: Pray for prospective CSB churches; for God to present opportunities to plant CSB everywhere; for opportunities to promote Christian Service Brigade and CSB Ministries. Thursday: Pray for individual leaders: past, present and future; for their personal needs; for their spouses and families; for their growth in the Lord; and for God’s continuous protection. Friday: Pray for CSB’s supporters and alumni: the prayer warriors, the financial friends and the encouragers; for them to be strengthened in the Lord; for their personal needs; for their spouses and families. Praying, as well, for an increase. Saturday: Pray for your family and CSB. |

"The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16b (NIV)
February is CSB Month across Canada, and as such, it is the time for leaders and churches to celebrate what God has done through their ministry to boys and to men. There is much in the local group that should be shared with the entire church family and CSB would like to encourage each person to work with their pastors to give a brief report about what is going on in their unit during one of the February services.
CSB Ministries Canada sets aside one week each year to prayerfully uplift this vital ministry to children and their families. We all know that the Bible teaches us that "The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]."; James 5:16b (Amplified Bible). We need to claim this verse for the ministry in each church, for CSB’s national ministry, and for every community around the world.
Therefore, we request that you, the reader, and each CSB leader in every church, designate the last week of February as the CSB Week of Prayer. Every day during that week EACH person should commit to pray for an aspect of the ministry. Each CSB church should design and develop an insert that can be put in the church bulletin prior to the first day. It should list the names of each person involved in CSB in the church, child and leader, asking the congregation to pray for each one during the week. Specific groups can be asked to pray each day. Those who gather for the church's weekly prayer meeting should be reminded to pray for the specific needs of their CSB ministry.
We would ask that, as God leads, for each of the following items are prayed for:
1. For each child, by name, and his or her family. Pray for their salvation and growth in the Lord, etc. 2. For each leader and helper involved with the local CSB unit. Pray for their walk with God; their health; happiness; safety; etc. 3. For the staff members of CSB Canada and their families: John and Melanie Launstein, CSB Canada Harold and Carol Browne in Eastern Canada and CSB’s Head Office Ron and Dianne Carnahan in Ontario Gord and Marie Banman in the Prairies Region, and CSB’s Warehouse Steve and Bonnie Grove in Northern Saskatchewan Rick and Esther Cross in Alberta Howard and Kathie Pike in British Columbia Pray that they would have wisdom in extending the ministry across Canada; for safety and protection in their travels, and their daily lives; and for the financial support needed to continue this ministry. 4. For the CSB Board of Directors as they provide overall direction for the ministry across Canada. 5. for the President of CSB US, John Launstein, and their Board. They need prayer as they plan the overall direction of the ministry and face some significant opportunities. 6. for the boys and girls, leaders and helpers, involved with CSB in churches across North America. Pray that they would respond to God's love, that every boy and girl would accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour this year, and that they would grow in all areas of their lives. 7. for our CSB alumni serving the Lord around the world, as pastors, missionaries, elders, deacons, teachers, managers, politicians, and leaders in the areas that the Lord has called them to.
Finally, if there are any specific requests that should be shared with CSB people across Canada, please send them to Harold Browne, CSB Ottawa, and he will place them on the CSB Prayer Chain: hbrowne@csbministries.org
