So far, no one has added their written comment to what we are going to do this summer's Battalion Camp; specifically on August 22 to 26. Paintball or AirSoft? Chilliwack Lake, Manning, Lytton, Princeton or Grand Forks? Wide Games, Caving, White Water Rafting, Hiking, Biking or Canoeing? It's not hard to state your choice.
With opportunity come responsibility; that means that you have got to let your voice be heard. In Vancouver, too many people (read MEN) are too complacent about making plans and sticking to them. As Christians, you'd think that our "yes" would be "yes" and our "no", "no", just as the Lord instructed. Well, we get around the problem by saying NOTHING. We don't make commitments. And, I'm not going to encourage you guys to remain uncommitted. Christ showed us how to be committed. He made His plans well in advance and He stuck to them. Follow Christ and do the same! ARE YOU COMING TO BATTALION CAMP IN LATE AUGUST? Other opportunities for commitment: PAINTBALL is on Saturday, June 14th. Are you committed to go? We leave at 9am and are back by 3pm. We play three games. The cost is $13 per guy, which includes the gear and 100 paintballs. If you need more, it's 100 balls for around $10. We need you to sign up by Sunday, June 8th.

Okay, here we are looking at the end of the Battalion year. Guys are already MIA because of sports and stuff. Well, what to we want to do for the Battalion Summer Camp? In the past, we've hiked Otter Lake to Coalmont; biked the KVR through Myra Canyon down to Penticton, and later, from Otter Lake to Princeton; biked (somewhat) around Hope on some pretty long hills, stalked salmon at Emory Creek and played football in Yale; camped at Chilliwack Lake and in Lytton; rafted the Thompson and jumped into waterfalls; camped at Manning and a Lytton just to relax. And, we've camped in our own special stop on Eagle Mountain, right here at home.
Sorry, guys, but camping on Eagle is just too easy. How do we go for a weekend hike on Eagle when it's our "dream destination" for our big summer camp. We gotta do more than that. So, how about Chilliwack Lake at the Four Square Lodge and with a pile of Airsoft at our "paintball arena"? This is better, but still attainable any weekend for us... any! How about biking Myra Canyon, camping at Chute Lake? Or, going to Manning, or to Lytton for rafting and waterfalls, or to Grand Forks and biking on mountain tops and through a long, curving railway tunnel? Let's go for the big stuff, guys; the stuff that will make memories for us. God bless us all. - Capt WE NEED YOUR INPUT... What do you want to do? |
