It’s not about “program”, it’s about ministry. It’s about discipling a guy - guiding a young man - as he grows in his walk with Jesus Christ. Teenaged guys are young MEN. They want to be men, and they want to be treated like men. Battalion does this through the example of Christian leaders, through challenging activities, through shared interests, and through independent lives dedicated to, lived for, Christ. Battalions do some exciting stuff. The weekly meetings focus on the gang-nature of guys. There are hard-fought games and challenges, leadership responsibilities, character-building opportunities, and a focus on the Man of men, Jesus Christ: Creator, Warrior, King, Servant, Sacrifice, Saviour, GOD!
Other activities include hikes and camps; summer camps; canoeing; retreats; ball hockey tournaments; the Director’s Cup Football Classic; wilderness adventures; and unprovoked acts of service. Battalion is all about MANNING-UP! |
