Pastor Bill Wong, a graduate of Northwest Baptist Theological College, has been in full time ministry since 1980, and has served the Lord in many capacities which have included 10 years with Christian Service Brigade in BC, Director of Counselling with Burden Bearers, Chaplain with the Baptist Housing Society of BC and a number of years as a Pastor in ethnic ministries in the Metro Vancouver area.
Presently serving in his 17th year as the Manager of the Union Gospel Mission New Westminster Resource Centre, Bill is also involved in pulpit ministry and as a summer conference speaker with a number of Chinese English ministry churches over the past 15 years.
Bill has a passion to see men pursuing God through the Word, prayer and good works. He knows the struggles of manhood in an increasingly secular world where the Christian walk is openly ridiculed. And, he has lived as a westernized Asian caught between differing cultures. His message powerfully addresses these issues.
Bill lives with his wife Jean in North Langley, fondly known as Walnut Grove. They have a son, Timothy, who is a commercial banker, and a daughter, Allison, who is completing her post-graduate studies at Simon Fraser University.

INTERESTING Facts about Bill...
Bill is "Herald of Christ" #94. This is the highest award earned by young men in Christian Service Brigade. There have only been 206 in Canada since 1946; this serves as a testimony of how difficult the award is to achieve. Thousands have begun it, but only a few can complete it in its entirety before they are twenty-one.
Bill was throwing rocks at a church when he was "invited" to join their boys' group. Will Blackaby - Henry's brother - didn't give Bill any option.
Bill occasionally faces serious threats at the mission. Two years ago, he was approached by a former guest at UGM who had threatened him for 8 years. This time he came to ask if Bill would conduct the wedding for his fiance and himself. Bill agreed to officiate it at the UGM facility which was the first official wedding ever conducted at the centre in New Westminster.
Bill has also had the privilege of being part of a small task force which pioneered the first Coalition for Homelessness in the Metro Vancouver area which now exists in all of the other municipalities in the region. The New Westminster Coalition has a membership of 25-30 social service agencies including active members of the city council of New Westminster.
Bill has served on the Board of Directors of CSB Canada. Chuck Stecker, our other keynote speaker for ISI-Coquitlam 2015, currently serves on the CSB USA Board.
